Notes:
--Tai Chi anyone? Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese form of self defense. Recent research indicates that those who practice this system of slow and controlled movements are able to improve or maintain strength, flexibility, and balance. Practitioners also report enhanced relaxation and a sense of well-being.
--A program of exercise does not have to be glamorous (e.g., sky-diving) or overly intense (e.g., climbing Mount Everest). Even just walking several times a week for a period of 30 minutes or more may be all that is needed to stay physically fit, with lower blood pressure and blood cholesterol level.
--Beyond oneís genetic predisposition to osteoporosis, weight-bearing physical activity reduces risk of osteoporosis.
--Check with your doctor before starting any exercise program.
